CASAA verification and what to track after submission

Check the linked school and CASAA instructions for your application cycle. Requirements can change.

Submitting a CASAA application is an important milestone, but it does not establish that every school has a complete file. Track the centralized application status and the school's remaining requirements separately.

Verification is CASAA's review of coursework information and standardized GPA calculations. The current help page says verification can take up to 10 business days once required materials are received and the application is in the queue. Treat that as published guidance, not a guaranteed completion date for your individual application. CASAA verification.

Keep separate status fields

A personal tracker should distinguish at least:

Status area Question
Submission Did you submit the application and required payment?
Material receipt Have the required external records arrived?
Verification Has CASAA completed its review?
School completion Does the program have its additional items?
Admissions decision Has the program communicated an outcome?

Do not automatically mark later stages complete when an earlier stage changes. A submission confirmation cannot prove that an external score or supplemental form has arrived.

Use the official portal as the status source

Record the date and status shown in the application system. Keep your dashboard as a planning record, with links to the official destination.

If the system reports missing material, compare it with your request record. A transcript order confirmation shows that you requested a transcript; it may not show that the application service received and matched it.

Avoid repeatedly sending duplicate materials without first checking the instructions or asking support about the specific issue.

Plan for a correction request

CASAA explains that significant coursework-entry mistakes can cause an application to be returned for correction. If that happens, read the actual instructions and identify every requested change before resubmitting. Verification and corrections.

Make a short correction log: issue, change made, date and resubmission status. Save any relevant correspondence. This gives you a clear record if you need help later.

Check the school's own completion rules

Some requirements may have separate timing or reporting steps. Case Western's process, for example, discusses verified status together with official test scores and Casper results when describing review. Case Western application process.

Use the school's published process to identify remaining tasks. Do not treat a verified CASAA status as an interview invitation or an admissions decision.

Follow up with a precise question

A useful support message identifies the application item, the request or submission date, the status you see and what you need clarified. Include application identifiers only through the appropriate official channel.

Avoid broad messages such as “Is everything okay?” when you can identify a missing item. Clear questions reduce unnecessary back-and-forth.

Preserve your application record

Save the version of the application available to you and the documents you submitted. Record school-specific confirmations and decisions separately.

Continue checking your official communication channels, including filtered messages, while respecting any program instructions about updates. If you receive an interview or additional request, create a new task with its own deadline.

Your next step is to review one submitted school's record and identify the evidence for every completion status.

Use the application timeline and supplemental materials guide to organize what comes next.

Put this into your plan.

Keep your next steps with the schools and applications they belong to.
